There has not been a lot of action on the blog in July but there has not been a lot going on. It has alternated between really hot and thunderstorms the whole month so we have not done too much. However, another month has passed and Jack is another month older. Here he is in his 4 month shot. He is now 14 pounds and is starting to try to sit up on his own.
The only big news is that yesterday we bought a boat, it is a used 17 foot grumman canoe. It is huge (made for 4 persons) which means it is very stable for antsy 2-year-olds.
Last night we took it out for its maiden voyage. We loaded up Everett and Jack. Napolean decided to come along as well and keep lookout.
We had a nice paddle out on South Cove and up Beaman creek before turning around. We pulled up to a friends dock and said hello and the headed on home.
The only casualty we suffered is a broken oar (I snapped it in half trying to go faster). Oh well, a little epoxy and fiberglass tape and it will be stronger than ever. Everett also decided halfway home that he had to go pee and wanted to go in the water. I thought it was a funny picture.

I can't believe how well Jack is sitting since we were just there. He is so cute.
The boat looks like so much fun. We are happy for you all to have a new pastime.
