Beach Baby

Amy, Everett and I went down to Naples, FL this past weekend for a wedding. It was a lot of firsts both for us and for the baby. It was his first plane, our first vacation, his first time to the beach and in the Gulf. He was of course dressed to the gills for the wedding. Here are a few of the beach pictures. Keep watching because I have a ton more that will go up in the next few days along with some new videos.

All dressed up and ready to play.

One More Picture

3 Months Old

Everett turned 3 months old on 6/19 and we just got around to taking his picture last night. We take a picture each month in the same chair with the same bear (an idea borrowed from a friend). Here are the pictures:

He loves his bear.

Sleepy 3-month old

Everett turned 3 months yesterday and one thing you can say about babies is that they sleep a lot...

Sometimes they fall asleep on Daddy...

Sometimes they fall asleep on Mommy...

And sometimes, they just fall asleep while playing with their toys.

My First Father's Day

Well my first father's day went very well. It started off with Everett handing me my present, a one-hour massage at a local spa. I can't wait to make that reservation.

After that we went to the boat to hang out for a while. It was a hot, sunny day so us baldies(Everett, grandpa, and Daddy) had to cover up with hats and sunglasses. Everett enjoyed his new attire.

We hung out on the boat and played for a while before we went back to grandma and grandpa's house to barbeque.

A full day of sun and food makes people tired and we couldn't resist that hammock in the shade.

Overall is was a great day, full of sun and family.

No Pain, No Gain

Well folks, yesterday was a great day for the ride. It was partly cloudy and in the low 70s the entire time. Although the weather cooperated the terrain did not. Who knew there were so many hills in CT? I didn't. I do now. All in all despite the pain it was a good ride and we all finished. Here are the final stats:

Total Miles: 37.99
Avg Speed: 12.07 mph
Max Speed: 34.5 mph
Time: 3 hours: 8 min. 51 sec.
Donations: Around $850 for diabetes research

Thanks to everyone for their support.

Waterbaby - Part deux

I have even more astounding proof of the existence of water babies. Feast your eyes on this:

Waterbaby - A fairy tail for land babies, or real?

Originally published in 1863 by Charles Kingsley, the story of the little chimney sweep that is Tom was a very popular fairy tale throughout the late 19Th century and up through the 1920s. Similar to Peter Pan, another moralistic Victorian fairytale, it contained two worlds, the world of Christianity and the world of fairies. Unique to this novel is perhaps the greatest argument to the existence of water babies and fairies ever offered up:

as the reader says: "But there are no such things as water babies," Kingsley answers with devastating logic: "how do you know? Have you ever been there to see? No one has a right to say water babies don't exist until they have seen no water babies existing."

This argument is so great because of course, you can never prove a universal negative!

However, I now have in my possession even greater proof of the existence of water babies. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I offer it up to you here:

Tomorrow, I will present even more eveidence. Stay tuned!

A Warm, Clear Day

The rain finally stopped yesterday and we had a nice clear evening to spend some time outside. We put on our sunglasses and got together with Amy's parents for quick bike ride. It was a good ride and the boys enjoyed themselves, here is an action shot.

There in the trailer you can see Napolean sticking his head out. So we hit the roads for about 3 miles and although it was nice and clear it was humid so we all got a little sweaty and needed showers. Here are a few pictures of Everett taking a shower in the kitchen sink. He is going to kill me for this when he gets older.

After getting nice and clean he had some milk and went to bed. He slept through the night, I guess the ride wore him out.

Outdoor Life - Part 2

My bike tour is coming up soon, I put together a corporate team of 3 of us (I work at a pretty small company) but we managed to raise close to $750 for Diabetes research. I had been putting in pretty good training rides pulling the stroller behind me. It has rained most of this week so I haven't been able to get out on the bike as much. When I do I will have to take some more pictures. Amy did manage to get one picture and I promised I would post it so here you go:

There are the boys loaded up in the trailer ready to go for a ride.
